What is 'contextual' intelligence, and how does it help AI agents generate 3D worlds? Virtual talk.

Plus: Ethical and societal impact of advanced AI agents discussed by a Google DeepMind researcher. Video lecture.

Hello, fellow human—Sophia here. Check out some of the upcoming virtual talks we're hosting soon on the capability of AI agents to generate 3D worlds.

Before we dive in – please take a minute to fill out this short survey. We're launching a programming live stream and want to make it as useful as possible for those who'd like hands-on experience with AI.  If this is relevant to you – please fill out the survey or share it with a friend who might be interested. Thank you!

On August 15th, we will have Fan-Yun Sun, a Stanford University researcher, who will talk about 'contextual' intelligence as the ability of AI agents to select and leverage better context for enhanced reasoning.

In line with this concept, Fan-Yun will introduce his work on generating environments and 3D scenes to train robots, as well as share the cutting-edge research happening towards building AI agents capable of recreating our complex world.

Speaking of capable AI agents, a few weeks ago we hosted a talk with Iason Gabriel, a Google DeepMind researcher who works on the Ethics Research Team.

Iason discussed the framework that he and his team have developed, which addresses the ethical and societal impact of advanced AI agents.

During the talk, we explored challenges such as human-AI relationships, whether AI agents should be allowed to break the law in life-or-death situations, or even in cases of civil disobedience, where a minor violation of the law could benefit the entire legislative system. We also debated whether AI could be considered conscious.

It was a very inspiring and deep conversation. If you care about AI ethics, I highly recommend watching the full lecture on the BuzzRobot YouTube channel.
